Superconducting phases of f-electron compounds

چکیده

Intermetallic compounds containing f-electron elements display a wealth of superconducting phases, that are prime candidates for unconventional pairing with complex order parameter symmetries. For instance, superconductivity has been found at the border of magnetic order as well as deep within ferroand antiferromagnetically ordered states, suggesting that magnetism may promote rather than destroy superconductivity. Superconductivity near valence transitions, or in the vicinity of magneto-polar order are candidates for new superconductive pairing interactions such as fluctuations of the conduction electron density or the crystal electric field, respectively. The experimental status of the study of the superconducting phases of f-electron compounds is reviewed.

Composite Spin-Triplet Superconductivity in an SU(2) ⊗ SU(2) Symmetric Lattice Model

The two-channel Anderson lattice model which has SU(2) ⊗ SU(2) symmetry is of relevance to understanding of the magnetic, quadrupolar and superconducting phases in U1−xThxBe13 or Pr base skutterudite compounds such as PrFe4P12 or PrOs4Sb12. Possible unconventional superconducting phases of the model are explored. They are characterized by a composite order parameter comprising of a local magnet...

Weak phase separation and the pseudogap in the electron-doped cuprates

– We study the quantum transition from an antiferromagnet to a superconductor in a model for electronand hole-doped cuprates by means of a variational cluster perturbation theory approach. In both cases, our results suggest a tendency towards phase separation between a mixed antiferromagnetic-superconducting phase at low doping and a pure superconducting phase at larger doping. However, in the ...

Triplet superconducting pairing and density-wave instabilities in organic conductors.

Using a renormalization group approach, we determine the phase diagram of an extended quasi-one-dimensional electron gas model that includes interchain hopping, nesting deviations, and both intrachain and interchain repulsive interactions. We find a close proximity of spin-density- and charge-density-wave phases and singlet d-wave and triplet f-wave superconducting phases. There is a striking c...

Insulating, conducting and superconducting states of (TMTSF)2AsF6 under pressure and magnetic field

2014 We report resistivity measurements along the high conductivity axis of (TMTSF)2AsF6 for various hydrostatic pressures up to 12 kbar, and for transverse magnetic fields of up to 70 kOe, in the temperature range 0.1 K-300 K. We derive a phase diagram which shows a « triple » point near Tc = 1.22 K and Pc = 10.5 kbar, and a reentrant behaviour of the superconducting state inside the semicondu...

Prediction of superconducting iron–bismuth intermetallic compounds at high pressure

The synthesis of materials in high-pressure experiments has recently attracted increasing attention, especially since the discovery of record breaking superconducting temperatures in the sulfur-hydrogen and other hydrogen-rich systems. Commonly, the initial precursor in a high pressure experiment contains constituent elements that are known to form compounds at ambient conditions, however the d...
